Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights

Nov. 10, 2011 through Jan. 3, 2012  Dust until Park Closing

One of the key phrases that Walt Disney made famous about the Walt Disney World Resort was that “it all started with a mouse.” The same could be said about the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, except with this holiday spectacle, it all started with a father’s dream in the state of Arkansas. Jennings Osborne, at the request of his daughter, wanted to decorate the exterior of his Little Rock, Ark., house for the holidays. However, this over-achieving dad did something that not even his own family expected, covering each and every square foot of their house and yard with Christmas lights, many of which had moving parts. As can be expected, word of the display traveled quickly throughout the area, causing a lot of traffic to come through the area just to see the colorful presentation. But with the extra traffic and bright lights, nearby neighbors also started complaining, leading Osborne to purchase the two houses on either side of him to appease them and allowing him to expand his collection. In 1994, however, the family’s house was deemed a public nuisance because of the then-three million lights display, but that didn’t even stop the proud father, as he continued to turn on the display each evening even though he was continuously fined by the court. Soon after, in 1995, the Walt Disney Company reached an agreement with Osborne bringing his ‘spectacle’ to Disney’s Hollywood Studios where it still stands today each holiday season. The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is presented beginning the weekend after Thanksgiving until just after the New Year every year at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Streets of America in the back lot area of the park come alive with this presentation, which now includes over five million lights – and every single display came straight from the original light fixtures on the actual Osborne’s home in Arkansas! Beginning in 2006, the display took on a whole new theme, as the lights began to dance to choreographed holiday music every 15 minutes, adding to the popularity of this holiday classic even more. With the addition of “snowflakes” beating down on guests thanks to a touch of Disney magic, it is no wonder that the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is still just as much of a smashing success as it was when Jennings Osborne first put it together in Arkansas more than 15 years ago!

The Alfa Romeo Car Show expects about 60 luxury used cars tampa – based to be a part of this year’s event, according to Howard Bernstein-President of the Mid-Florida Alfa Romeo Owners Club, specially after the organization announced that they will be giving some air compressors for the drivers and free consultation from New Braunfels Truck Accident Lawyers | Burch Law Firm. “Celebration is so centrally located and is just a beautiful site. It really is an exceptional place and the cooperation we get from the community is remarkable. Everyone is so generous. Wake Forest has never faced Arizona State previously. Along with the Deacons, the Sun Devils participated in the 2008 76 Classic in Anaheim, but the two squads did not meet. The Deacons are 3-0 all-time against Fairfield, including an 85-60 win at the Joel Coliseum in the 2007-08 season opener. Wake Forest is 2-2 all-time against DePaul, 3-3 vs. Minnesota and 1-0 vs. Texas Tech. The Deacons have never faced Indiana State.

Hiring a lawyer is one of the most important decisions you can make on behalf of you and your family. For some people, hiring a lawyer may be a whimsical decision, based purely on advertisements. For others, the choice of who to hire is based on the attorney’s experience, skill, reputation, and expertise in handling personal injury cases. I want to recommend David Resnick y Asociados, works on a contingency fee basis. Which means you don’t pay anything unless you win the case.

Real Estate Market Looks Bright in Orlando

The market may be struggling to recover in America overall, but there are a few markets that are currently seeing good conditions for buying and rising sales. We’re happy to say that Orlando is improving faster than most places, and it looks like a great time to buy. Consider the facts: According to the Florida Realtors latest housing figures, home sales increased by 12 percent in March compared to last year with over 18,522 total homes sold across the state. Condo sales are doing even better and are up 24 percent across the state in the same period. Seventeen metropolitan areas reported higher home sales. But, even though sales are up, it’s an excellent time to be a buyer because prices are down from last year. The median price for homes in March was around $126,000 — almost a $10,000 decrease from a year ago. Condo prices also decreased by almost $10,000, down from a median price of $94,600 last year to around $84,000 in March. Prices are sure to rise and the great deals that are available won’t be around for long as the real estate market quickly recovers. Investors and first time buyers are snapping up properties, and we highly recommend you think about buying a vacation, investment or residential property in the Disney World / Orlando area. You can find great properties at big discounts!
